Description Georges Eckenschwiller 2011-12-19 14:42:55 CET
Hello,

midori looks for a file /usr/share/doc/HTML/index.html and this file does not exist.
I saw that the package indexhtml must create a link to the actual location of the index.html file.
But the link does not exist.

The problem also exists with Mageia 1

Here it's work, in both 1 & cauldron.

Was indexhtml installed ?

Yes indexhtml-1-6.mga1 is installed.
I have a directory /usr/share/doc/HTML/ but without file index.html, and without symbolic link to a file index.html.
In fact, the file is in /usr/share/indexhtml/.

Have you installed Mga fron live CD or from DVD with option "no documentation"?

File /usr/share/doc/HTML/index.html is tagged as doc file and thus not installed in previous cases, IIRC.

Check if file /etc/rpm/macros contains line '%_excludedocs yes'. If yes, change yes -> no, install indexhtml again with 'urpmi indexhtml --replacepkgs' and start midori again.

Comment 4 Georges Eckenschwiller 2011-12-19 18:31:38 CET
Clearly seen, although the index.html page is displayed, after correction.

But now I get the message "La page http://start.mageia.org/?p=vendor=Mageia.Org ....
Cannot connect to destination (www.mageia.org)"

This may be just a temporary problem.

The question is: why have I '%_excludedocs yes' ?

To install only the xfce desktop, I do first a minimal install (I uncheck all package groups, then I choose: with X, no packages suggests, without basic documentation, with urpmi).
Is this the cause of the problem ?

I think "without basic documention" option is the cause.
