Description Dan Fandrich 2011-12-16 10:20:48 CET
From within the mga2 alpha 2 DVD rescue-gui, "Mount your partitions under /mnt" doesn't find and mount device-mapper software RAID partitions. The log shows it loading what seems like the right ATA drivers, then scans for lvm2, but nothing about dmraid. It shows blkid commands on the two RAID1 devices (so they are accessible individually), but no mention of the /dev/mapper/ device. The device node also doesn't exist in /dev/mapper/. lsmod from the console shows dm_mod loaded but not dm_mirror or any other dm_* module. "dmraid -s" from the rescue console shows the correct RAID1 set.

I can confirm this is also the case on Mageia 1. I remarked on this version that loading the right modules (raid1.ko, raid5.ko, ...) was helping. After that I was able to use mdadm to start the volumes and mount them.
