Unfortunately, it is required by GNOME 3, so it can't be removed via urpme or ignored by urpmi. The only way to get rid of it is rpm -e --nodeps after GNOME is in. CC:

ftg @Frank: This bug is for installer when detecting wifi, not post-install fixing. So in my mind the install process could override the GNOME requirement. But this is for the devs' consideration. BFN Related to https://bugs.mageia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=3344#c13 ? @blino: well yes, it's related to all the wifi bugs I read in this Bugzilla and other remarks on the Mga ML's all evidencing that we should remove Networkmanager. Indeed I can't work with NM in Cauldron and get wlan0 working okay. So testing the alpha2 isos and seeing NM is installed for GNOME3 always, it occurred to me Mga would be better off without Networkmanager. It's simple: drakxnet, drakroam, mandi and avahi-daemon get it done, but only if NM isn't around. Thanks. Indeed I can't work with NM in Cauldron and get wlan0 working > okay. I have the same problem now on Cauldron. With networkmanager running, the wlan0 refuses to load, while after stopping it, I am able to connect to the wifi. Regards, -- Shlomi Fish CC:

shlomif If there are bugs with NetworkManager, then file bugs so these bugs can be fixed. For me, NetworkManager works perfectly fine with wifi. Already reported, e.g. https://bugs.mageia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=4721 https://bugs.mageia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=2160 I guess you are now agree to close this one as wontfix ? RESOLVED Not a problem for me (I don't have it on my laptop). |
