Description André DESMOTTES 2011-12-05 21:00:07 CET
Description of problem:
Impossible to have an Internet connection after the installation.
The PC is :
MB Asus M4A77A AM2+, PhenomII X4 945, 4 Go RAM, GC Radeon HD4350, Ethernet Gigabit Realtek RTL8111/8168B. No Wifi.
The installer did its job without any problem.
The Realtek chipset is well detected and the error message is (Short translated from French):
Problems arise during the test, may be caused by your network or bad settings. You can try again.

Mandriva 2010.1 PWP is working fine "out of the box" on this PC. Internet is well auto-detected in the MCC and surf or download are possible. I tried to write down the MDV parameters in Mageia but it doesn't work.
I must add that MDV2010.1 is 32bits while Mageia is 64 bits.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
Mageia2 alpha1

How reproducible:
Each time (tried twice)

Steps to Reproduce (first time):
1.Make a clean install
2.Accept update
3.Error message : Problems arise during the test, may be caused by your network or bad settings. You can try again.

Steps to Reproduce (second time):
1.Make a clean install
2.Reboot
3.Update
4.Same error message

I think you miss the non-free media : this driver needs a firmware. Try adding it and installing kernel-firmware.

I downloaded kernel-firmware with an other OS (same PC ans same connection) and installed it, but that doesn't make any differences.

The hardware does not seems to have any problem. Now that Alpha 2 is coming, please test with the new medias to ensure the problem is still there.
