palm_pre_stl This has nothing to do with fallback. gnome-shell is not even included on the CD-ROM, and the machine here is perfectly capable of running Gnome3 in "fancy"/real mode. Are you saying that you have seen Gnome running with the 64bit iso on any machine? Should be fixed with the alpha 2, gnome-shell is in the .lst (but I have not "really tested") Feel free to reopen.
