Description Pierre Jarillon 2011-11-28 00:38:53 CET
I have installed flash-player-plugin-kde which idepends of flash-player-plugin.
After this, flash works fine with Firefox.

But with konqueror->configuration, I need to search manualy for external modules.
libflashplayer is installed in /usr/lib64/mozilla/plugins/ and listed as external module. Each time I try to open a video on youtube, I get this error message: nspluginviewer : segmentation fault.

As flash-player-plugin is now a 64bits application, is nspluginviewer still needed?
Comment 1 Manuel Hiebel 2011-11-28 18:38:28 CET
the version 11 of flash-player-plugin in update use the 64bits one so no.

Anssi, something wrong ?

Could be some upgrade leftover issue...

Pierre, can you show the output of:
ls -l /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins/ /usr/lib64/mozilla/plugins/
Comment 3 Pierre Jarillon 2011-11-28 23:47:22 CET
/usr/lib64/mozilla/plugins/:
total 18848
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 18782360 nov. 27 23:51 libflashplayer.so*
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 106600 nov. 23 15:23 libtotem-cone-plugin.so*

/usr/lib/mozilla/plugins/ does not exist.
Comment 4 Anssi Hannula 2011-11-28 23:56:48 CET
And you still experience the issue?

If so, check what konqueror's about:plugins says.
Comment 5 Pierre Jarillon 2011-11-29 01:38:44 CET
VLC Multimedia Plugin (compatible Totem 3.2.1)
The Totem 3.2.1 plugin handles video and audio streams.
     libtotem-cone-plugin.so
     video/flv - vidéo Flash (flv)

Type Mime:
video/flv vidéo Flash flv Installés

I don't see what is wrong.

That content of about:plugins seems very strange, as it would indicate no Flash Player at all (which you do have according to comment #3). Did you cut something out? If so, please show the full contents (either by saving and attaching the page or taking a screenshot).

Output of about:plugins

The whole about:plugins printed in a PDF file

Note: I have always the same pop-up error message...
Comment 8 Anssi Hannula 2011-11-29 02:19:57 CET
Sorry, it seems all the people on this report (including me) confused nspluginwrapper (which wraps 32-bit plugins as 64-bit ones) with nspluginviewer (which is the part of KDE that runs browser plugins).

For some reason the plugin crashes when used with nspluginviewer. Since the Flash Player works fine with other programs, I'm reassigning this bug to the KDE maintainer.

New! In this page, a video can be played with konqueror:
http://actualite.portail.free.fr/insolite/27-11-2011/paralysee-elle-retrouve-l-usage-de-ses-jambes-apres-une-chute/
It is an embedded video from dailymotion.

On other pages Flasplayer gives an error!
