This is not an installer bug. If the installer doesn't install hal, this is because none of the installed packages requires it. What's more, hal is supposed to die. If that causes issues with some packages, then it's a package bug since it doesn't work without hal. Please fill the RPM package field with the name of the affected packages and describe your actual issues Keywords:

Probably - sorry, 3458 arrived after I had started searching in bugzilla - took me some time to assess whether other user had the same problem.
