Description of problem:  Axiom computer algebra system is not in the software repositories, but was under Mandriva.  Compiling takes a long time; having this in the repos would also alleviate having to resolve any dependencies yourself.


Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):  Under Mandriva, it was 3.4-0.2010040.1mdv2010.1

Setting version to cauldron to improve the chance that someone will package it. When it is in cauldron, it is expected to be available in the first stable release that follows, but it is also possible to reopen this request for Mga 1, then.

I tried, but the compilation of the included gcl fails on my x86_64 machine. Maybe someone can have a look. I'll attach the log. Thanks.

This problem occurs with x86_64 and is in GCL. I'm going to try to consult upstream.

It was probably fixed in Debian http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=625032
