Thanks all :-D Sorry... Nothing new to report as I have not been using Konqueror anymore for viewing live streams by way of this plugin. As my problem with Firefox was solved, I am now using Firefox for (virtually) all my web browsing. :-) (In reply to comment #7) > Sorry... Having trouble retesting this one, as the site is not available all of the time. I'll try to retest it in the next few days. Aragorn, can you see if you still have the problem? Dave, I no longer have the problem, but the reason for that is that the company responsible for the streaming has switched from the Windows Media Player codec to Adobe Flash a while ago. So the website now has an embedded Flash Player window, roughly akin to YouTube and other such websites. And Flash does of course work inside Konqueror - albeit not as well as inside Firefox for YouTube videos but that's a different issue. Maybe more users had this problem with this stream, and the company switched for that reason? Anyway, in Mageia no one reported this problem with another stream, so closing as OLD. Hehe, Marja, as much as I share your wishful thinking, I don't think that too many people looking at a live stream of a beach-mounted webcam in De Haan, Belgium, would be GNU/Linux users. :p Now, local town administrations are one thing, but we've got a government here who is best buddies with William Henry Gates III, and comprised of political parties who drool over corporatism. I think that this is probably due to the very low preference for Konqueror as a web browser - even though it is a great tool and I also prefer it as a file manager - in favor of Firefox. There's also a very big userbase who have GNOME or XFCE installed and who would thus by default not even think of installing and using Konqueror, given that Konqueror is a KDE-typical thing. On account of the bug itself, I think it may be related to the cache somehow, because quite obviously, it worked the very first time that the Windows Media Player codec was invoked, but it didn't work anymore in subsequent attempts. Well, I'm using Firefox now as my main browser - some things don't work well in Firefox and for those I have to use Konqueror - and so for me personally, and being pragmatic in that, the issue has been resolved. But that's pragmatism, because it didn't fix the bug. And that bug may very well be an upstream bug, so it might not be fixable by the Mageia package maintainers.
