This seems like a philosophical hen/egg discussion. chose filesystem->chose mount point or chose mount point->chose filesystem Many third party tools and other linux distribution installers, require first a decision for the filesystem. AFTER you know which filesystem you want you can chose the mount point... (In reply to sturmvogel from comment #1) > Many third party tools and other linux distribution installers, require > first a decision for the filesystem. AFTER you know which filesystem you > want you can chose the mount point... This accords with Ben's point. If as Ben says, following the order of presentation, you choose the mount point for an unformatted partition before defining its FS type, you get an error; and it is just a question of reversing the order of the two parameters to avoid this (although you could still force the error in practice by setting mount point before FS type against their presented order); and that this is an enhancement request; passing it on.
