advisory MGA9-64 Plasma on an HP Pavilion 15, A8-4555 APU. No installation issues, used it for normal morning stuff, mostly browsing and reading mail, no issues. Also, same hardware as comment 5, but my production install to give it a real-world test. Again, no installation issues. I've been using it all afternoon for this and that, with no problems. Created attachment 14383 [details]

westel mga9-64 OK on three laptops Actually updated all three to everything in testing repo, using urpmi --auto-update while running plasma. On one (M6300) I also let it suspend and resume. On all, no problem installing nor suspend-resume. Tested Firefox video, Thunderbird, some desktop apps, etc. Laptops: Dell Precision M6300 Acer Aspire 7 Lenovo Thinkpad T5100 --- @Ben comment 10 really not good, looks like some kind of installer fault. Maybe for a separate bug report. (In reply to Morgan Leijström from comment #11) > > @Ben comment 10 really not good, looks like some kind of installer fault. > Maybe for a separate bug report. I removed that package and re-installed it without error (!?) I also ran the install of the listed packages ( from core release ) and then upgraded without issue, on an LXDE 64bit system. that system shows no issues in use. Will try another 32bit install and see if the issue recurs. If so, yes, a bug report. Interesting. I have two MGA9-32 Xfce installs on Foolishness, one using the desktop kernel and the other using desktop586. Both installs only updated breeze-icons and oxygen-icons, with no issues. I suppose that's not surprising, because I don't install Plasma apps on this old Dell laptop. Plasma doesn't like the old Radeon RV200 GPU, so I've always assumed Plasma apps would have the same aversion. MGA9-32 Plasma on AMD Phenom II X4 910, Radeon HD 8490 graphics, server kernel. No installation issues. After the reboot I tried launching Dolphin, Gwenview, Okular, Kdenlive, and a couple of other "K" apps. No problems with launching, GUIs all came up fine. I use the first three all the time, and they all worked OK. I'm not familiar with the others, so only checked for launching. Mageia9, x86_64 Kernel: 6.6.14-desktop-1.mga9 Intel cpu, nvidia-545.29.06 Performed installation in Mate. Needed to install about half of the release packages to bring the system up to date. Then updated the whole kf5 stack without issues. Rebooted to install the new kernel and logged in to Mate OK. Logged out and back in to Plasma. Continued editing this report in kate. Launched firefox from the taskbar in another virtual desktop. Ran gwenview from konsole then tried out several applications from the system menu. Moved konsole beside firefox by dragging the icon from one panel to the next in the taskbar widget. Tried out bluetooth and was able to connect to an audio device immediately but could not hear any sound with dragonplayer or vlc even though pavucontrol indicated that the stream was being processed and directed to the correct sink. Tried a few more applications from the menu, mostly to see that they launched OK. Switched back to Mate and found no difficulties with bluetooth audio. Returned to Plasma. Tried out clementine and that managed fine with bluetooth audio. More 'k' applications from the menu. All launched OK. Leaving this running for a while. CC:

tarazed25 Xfce 32bit Vbox system. installed packages ( less devel ) system does not appear to have ill effects. MGA9-64 LXQt system in VirtualBox. Confirmed bug 32818 (sonnet configuration dialog missing) before updating. No installation issues with the update, and nothing to report after a reboot, except that bug 32818 appears to have been fixed. MGA9-64 Gnome in VirtualBox. I don't care for Gnome, and only use this VM for testing purposes. I don't see any installed apps that I can point to as Plasma apps, but the VM updated 57 packages, with no installation issues. I rebooted and tried most of the installed apps in the activities menu, including several that I don't remember ever using before, and didn't see any issues. So what else do we need to send this on? (In reply to Thomas Andrews from comment #19) > So what else do we need to send this on? I am attempting a real 32bit (athlon xp 2400p) system, to see if any new sse/sse2 failures. runs! a tad slow, update has happend. just trying! to get the system to desktop because it went to sleep overnight and wouldnt wake up. it is a long wait. sorry about the delay. Also updated a karchive utility on an Xfce instance, that worked as expected as well. I think this is clean to go. Brian CC:

brtians1 "I think this is clean to go. Brian" I think so, too. This fixes Bug 32818, so no problem there. The only leftover is Bug 32804 (Amarok) and so far QA has not been able to replicate that issue, either before, or after the update. I don't believe it should hold this back. Giving this an OK, and validating. Whiteboard:

mageia Problem seems to come from these lines: mga9: %attr(2755,root,nobody) %_kf5_libexecdir/kdesud mga10: %attr(2755,root,nobody) %_kf6_libexecdir/kdesud Group should be nogroup and not nobody. Best regards Status:
