Please provide a diff instead of whole .spec so maintainer/packager can see what you've changed and review the changes. You pre-empted me on that point, Jani. But the matter of rebuiling for Python 3.12 remains valid, I suppose. Patool is one of those packages which never need attention apart from periodic "rebuild for python-3.10" etc. It apparently needs another one. Created attachment 14341 [details]

Basically switched to python-3.12 building and add added testing option (bcond_with/without) of the package at build time.

Created attachment 14339 [details] patool spec file for python-3.12 On cauldron, "patool" needs at least a rebuild for python 3.12. Attached is a spec file for latest version of patool which I'm currently using if it's of any help.
