Typo : you may read

(opencpn-5.8.4-2)

instead of

If you, Philippe, could give a pointer to testing it...
But thanks yet again for your sterling work on this application.
And yes, a bit late, it would have been better to bundles all these updates in one bug. But carry on as-is.

Comment 3 Philippe Didier 2024-01-17 21:17:15 CET
to test it you simply have to verify that the update is done without any problem

Then click on its icon inside the icons bar

A little blank window appears
right click inside it and choose new
You will then choose what must be watched
click on it and adapt the data

A bell will ring if there's an alarm

Advisory from comment 0 added to SVN. Please remove the "advisory" keyword if it needs to be changed. It also helps when obsolete advisories are tagged as "obsolete"

Mageia9, x86_64

After a clean update, enabled the watchdog. Used it to monitor depth and sound a 2-bells alarm, repeating every 30 seconds. On OK a message appeared saying that there was no depth information, which was oddly comforting. Looks good.
