Description of problem:

 this openCPN plugin has been improved since opencpn-8.2.4 was packaged

this new version is updates_testing

Updated package in /core/updates_testings

opencpn-ais-radar-plugin-1.4.10.0-1.mga9 for each arch

from SRPM 
opencpn-ais-radar-plugin-1.4.10.0-1.mga9.src.rpm

This package needs to be tested on the opencpn version from core/updates
(opencpn-5.8.4-2)

O.T. It was really necessary one report for each new opencpn package? Why not just one report to rule them all?

to test it you simply have to verify that the update is done without any problem

Then click on its icon inside the icons bar
a little window appear but no object can be detected inside the radar circle if your computer is not linked to an ais receptor

This is the only architecture available here.
Installed current opencpn and updated the radar plugin.
Configured opencpn with State of California maps for part of the west coast of the USA.  Enabled radar, two types of scanners, and the icon duly appeared in the task bar.  Clicking on that created two square panels which reported failure to find any radar source, as expected.  Looks like the plugin works anyway.

Giving this an OK.  Next step is to see if the advisory  needs to be modified in any way - en train.

Nope, although there is information on the web regarding opencpn radar plugins I could not see anything to enlarge the Description section so this goes to commit.

Sorry for the newbie questions - have never dealt with real advisories before.
Is 'bugfix' the correct type?  Would 'enhancement' be preferable?  Otherwise I cannot see the need for any change.

Yes. The advisories being committed to svn can only have security or bugfix
as the the "type".
