davidwhodgins, sturm-fr I've never used such a wifi site, so don't know the underlying details of how it transitions from an open wifi connection to a secure one. I think it's based on https://www.rfc-editor.org/rfc/rfc5416 but am not sure. Given that it eventually works, I suspect it's a timing issue in wpa_supplicant. There is no assigned maintainer for wpa_supplicant, so assigning to all packagers Assignee:
