Description Morgan Leijström 2023-11-24 15:06:10 CET
I was running Gnome Wayland on xorg modesetting driver.

Used mcc to switch to production nvidia driver (which is 535)
In case it matters i launched mcc graphically from "Applications".

PROBLEM: During run a message "Gurpmi2 does not respond" pops up.

Install takes minutes; downloading, installing, building by dkms... and after a while comes "Gurpmi2 does not repond", while I see in journal that it continues to operate, running dkms etc. Somewhere before dkms procedure i think it was, the popup disappeared, but soon reappeared again.

I let it work to the end and the popup closed by itself.

But less experienced users may have accepted the offer to abort!

First time i tried this in Gnome - i have never seen it in other DE i use (mainly Plasma).

I guess problem is interaction between drakx11 and gurpmi2.

Also, "Grupmi2" is not much help to common users as a reference...
