Description Florian Hubold 2023-11-20 23:57:21 CET
Description of problem:

Since audacity 3.x ID3 metadata is not properly imported when opening MP3 files.
Open an MP3 file with ID3 tags present and click Edit > Metadata, all ID3 tags are empty even though they are present in the MP3 file.

See the upstream bugreport for more information. This is merely a placeholder.

Thank you for the alert.
Can you interpret the following as a possible workaround? It looks as if you can get them back by some manipulation:
"I found that I check the file you provided for Metadata after download, you are correct, it is not present; however, if I add the metadata to that track when exporting from audacity, the metadata is correctly imported with the file"

The upstream news is not good:
- added this to the Audacity 3.4 milestone on Feb 3
- removed this from the Audacity 3.4 milestone 2 weeks ago

Florian, do you want to reply about the work-around noted above? Possibly re-phrase it.
