Description katnatek 2023-09-28 03:40:01 CEST
Description of problem:

Maybe is hard to do because a Live image is "transferred as is" to disk, but i suggest to implement a way of remove icon from the desktop in installed system and also the application

How reproducible:

Steps to Reproduce:
1. install mageia from live image
2. the the system installer icon its on the desktop an still on the system
Comment 1 Martin Whitaker 2023-09-28 08:54:37 CEST
This is already done, and has been so for as long as I have been building and testing the Live ISOs. I've just retested all three 64-bit Mageia 9 Live ISOs and confirmed it is still working. So I need a better description of how to reproduce the problem.

Please say which Live ISO you are using. After running the install and before rebooting, open a terminal window and run

  su -
  drakbug_report | xz > report.bug.xz

and attach the resulting report.bug.xz file to this bug report.

(In reply to Martin Whitaker from comment #1)
Its not a thing happen to me it comes from the distrowatch review in the url
I report that and not the other things like wellcome screen fail some times just for the sceenshot

If i can i'll make a installation on virtualization software to test, in my real hardware i prefer the control that give classic installation
Comment 3 Lewis Smith 2023-09-29 21:26:57 CEST
katnatek - do not bother; believe comment 1. Other people would have complained years ago.

Looks to me as if DistroWatch needs a comment.
From their review URL'd above:
"Something I noticed immediately while using the installed copy of Mageia 9 was that the launcher for the system installer (which was present on the live media) was still on the desktop. In fact, this icon still works, opening the system installer."
Could it be that the reviewer (Live Plasma) was still in the Live session? Or the consequence of a Plasma fault re desktop icons?
Comment 4 katnatek 2023-09-29 21:51:48 CEST
@Martin Whitaker and @Lewis Smith

The reviewer say use the installed system for a time.

I can't make myself the test because not have a disk that could use as "voluntary"
and seems like can't make test on virtualization software bug#32343

Feel free of close if you like

Nothing weird, but the reviewer not say if use burned dvd or dump iso on usb (and if is the case what software use to dump)

Closing as invalid
