Thank you for the report, and sorry for the inconvenience it is causing.

Looking into this showed a couple of incomplete (missing links) guides about installing this printer for Linux, Fedora being the nearest to us. Puzzled about the 'driverless', because one is (or was) available.

For the record, from the Epson site:

Driver: found the link, but lost it & cannot re-find it... The driver was a generic one for loads of printers.

Print utility: https://download.ebz.epson.net/dsc/du/02/DriverDownloadInfo.do?LG2=EN&CN2=&DSCMI=150346&DSCCHK=86d6b8e760ae2b05360f26111dea12f6ab05f112

Scan2 : https://download.ebz.epson.net/dsc/du/02/DriverDownloadInfo.do?LG2=EN&CN2=&DSCMI=149667&DSCCHK=ca2b3a2c33de9373534ea40f279f65b5ee028d84

"after upgrading to LM21 Cinnamon, it automatically installed the printer, and just works and I now see "Driverless" mentioned when it prints or scans."

Assigning to tv who deals with CUPS issues.

From
http://support.epson.net/linux/Printer/LSB_distribution_pages/en/escpr2.php

I have downloaded a rpm package. With the rpm package installed now I can choose epson-inkjet-printer-escpr2 1.2.6-1 instead of the driverless one

Now, system-config-printer accept to choose the driver, and I have the ink level.

But print does not works.
"cupsd[7908]: [Job 64] Print job was not accepted."

It does not works when uri is in dnsd and in ipps

If i switch to jetdirect socket://xxx:9100 it works.

Problem is solved for me, but I think it should be easier. And if i understand correctly, in the future cups will accept only driverless printing.
