Thank you for the report. You mean that if you launch draksound as normal user, it crash? Does it crash immediately, or when? Does it work OK if you launch it as root? CC:

Thank you for this report! I can reproduce it the same here also on Plasma, Swedish. It also crash if launched as user from Konsole. Assigning to tools maintainers. The workaround is to use Mageia Control Center, section "Hardware", item "Sound Configuration", which launches draksound. Or switch to root or use sudo to launch draksound. I think it this is high prio. Is it enough for errata? I think we do write more than one place to use draksound i.e for PipeWire. Summary:

draksound crash if launched as user draksound does not have - and, as far as I can tell, never has had - a wrapper to allow it to be run by a normal user. As the executable is in /usr/sbin, and as it is the same in Mageia 8, I don't think this is an errata item. Seems like an enhancement request to me. CC:
