The package is available
$ urpmq -i libreoffice-langpack-fr-7.4.5.1-1.2.mga8
Name        : libreoffice-langpack-fr
Epoch       : 1
Version     : 7.4.5.1
Release     : 1.2.mga8
Group       : System/Internationalization
Size        : 4188732                      Architecture: x86_64
Source RPM  : libreoffice-7.4.5.1-1.2.mga8.src.rpm
URL         : https://www.libreoffice.org/
Summary : French language pack for LibreOffice
Description :
Provides additional French translations and resources for LibreOffice.

It's on the mirrors. For example
http://mirror.math.princeton.edu/pub/mageia/distrib/8/x86_64/media/core/updates/libreoffice-langpack-fr-7.4.5.1-1.2.mga8.x86_64.rpm

Like the help files, only the manually selected language pack files get
installed.

With 70+ languages supported, installing all of them when libreoffice
is installed would then cause complaints about the disk space used.

Closing as invalid. Feel free to reopen if I've missed something.

Resolution: (none) => INVALID

this package is already installed on my system, this is why I don't understand the error message I've received
Comment 4 Dave Hodgins 2023-07-10 05:15:03 CEST
Please add the output of "rpm -qa|grep libreoffice|sort", and the
exact steps used to get the error message, including some sample of
the text entered.

I'm trying to recreate the issue but haven't had any success. I do have
libreoffice-langpack-fr installed, but normally use English (Canada).
Comment 5 Dave Hodgins 2023-07-10 05:16:39 CEST
Also, the output of "rpm -qa|grep hyphen|sort" to make sure hyphen-fr is
also installed.

Still need the rpm command output from comments 4 and 5.
