Description Jose Manuel López 2023-05-31 09:05:55 CEST
Description of problem:I think this has happened with the last updates, on Sunday I was going to watch video from pc to tv with hdmi cable and pipewire installed in Mageia 9. When I connect the hdmi cable the sound doesn't change to the tv, it is still on the laptop speakers. I did a test switching back to Pulseaudio, the sound works perfectly and switches to the TV when I connect the cable.
Again, I switched to Pipewire (either of the two options offered, I tried both), and the sound does not switch to the TV when I plug in the cable, in fact, sometimes it switches but fails and goes back to the laptop speakers.

I went back to Pulseaudio and it works fine.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): Pipewire last version in Mageia 9 plasma x86-64 with kernel 6.3.4

How reproducible: Switch from Pulseaudio to Pipewire if necessary. Connect hdmi cable to laptop and tv. Sound does not switch to tv speakers.

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Switch from Pulseaudio to Pipewire if necessary
2.Connect hdmi cable to laptop and tv
3.Neither of the two Pipewire options works properly by switching the sound to the tv speakers.

Thank you for the report.

On my Cauldron system I have these Pipewire pkgs:
 kpipewire-5.27.4-1.mga9
 lib64kpipewire5-5.27.4-1.mga9
 lib64kpipewiredmabuf5-5.27.4-1.mga9
 lib64kpipewirerecord5-5.27.4-1.mga9
*lib64pipewire0.3_0-0.3.70-1.mga9
*pipewire-0.3.70-1.mga9
the last two were updated on this sytem 28th April. Can you say whether this problem has always existed, or is recent?

Please post the output of:
 $ inxi -Axx

The fault looks clear enough to assign this to Giuseppe who nurses this software. You [G] may want to seek further information.

There is pipewire-0.3.71 in core/updates_testing, try that release.
