i don't remember in which version of mandriva the switch has taken place but it seems that before we did nt have complains about rpmdrake searche resalts and after, i see many times users complaines about instalation problems and the solution were to change the filter from gui to all

it would nt be judicious to switch the default to "all" after an experience of several years ?

We had quite a lot of complains about too many packages in default view.
The experienced users can alter their default view whereas new comers still get a better view.
