They have a new version in the svn.... 7.71.4. Just saying. Created attachment 13766 [details]

Sorry, but that is another unprecise obscure report: - you report is for MGA8 with alienarena-7.71.1.svn-5663.2 (a MGA8 package) - but your lshw output shows a MGA9 kernel (Linux 6.2.10-desktop-2.mga9)! So please provide correct informations: - from your host: inxi -F - from your guest: inxi -F Here on a MGA8 host with a MGA8 guest, alienarena renders just fine (with an way older processor and graphics...) Wanted to try this on M9, but my line is playing up, cannot download it. Will try again tomorrow. Status:

UNCONFIRMED Sorry. My bad. I guess I was just so frustrated when writing the report that I forgot to check. Anyways......... I installed Mageia 9 in that VM. I can try to reproduce the issue in Mageia 8 if needed/wanted. That will have to wait until Tuesday next week as I can't access that computer until then. Mageia 9, LxQt, real hardware. alienarena-7.71.3-0.svn5693.1.mga9 alienarena-data-7.71.3-0.svn5693.1.mga9.noarch openal-1.23.0-1.mga9.x86_64 opengl-games-utils-0.2-3.mga9.noarch This is a monster to install; but having sat through that - it works entirely, within my lack of knowledge of it. Kristoffer: please say what veriison you have (M8 & M9), whether it works for you on M9 (? inferred from previous comment), same for M8. From inside the VM of Mageia 9 (fresh install):

Windows 11 is the host system.
It's installed on a HP EliteDesk 800 G4 WKS TWR
You should be using above the same graphics VM environment as sturmvogel comment 4 (M8), which works. You have not answered the simple questions at the end of comment 7. Can we infer that alienarena (state version) still does not work on your M9 VM under Win11 host? What about an M8 quest system? We could be in a problem of VirtualBox on Windows 11. I also tested alienarena-7.71.3-0.svn5693.1.mga9 in a MGA9 guest on a MGA8 host. It also works. I can move and shoot and see all graphics. Lets summarize Lewis and mine tests: - alienarena in a MGA8 guest on a MGA8 host works - alienarena in a MGA9 guest on a MGA8 host works - alienarena in MGA9 on bare metal works So the issue is either in Windows 11 or Virtualbox for MS Windows. So nothing for the Mageia bugtracker... (In reply to sturmvogel from comment #10) > I also tested alienarena-7.71.3-0.svn5693.1.mga9 in a MGA9 guest on a MGA8 > host. It also works. So > nothing for the Mageia bugtracker... Have you tested to run alienarena using Windows 11 with a Mageia 8 VM? Please do if you haven't. The computer I mentioned HP EliteDesk 800 G4 WKS TWR is owned by Umeå Municipality so I'm not entitled to install Mageia 8 or 9 on/in it. The only way to test is either by booting Mageia 8 from a Live USB or by installing it in a VM. However, I took the liberty of building the latest revision from the upstream svn so I will test the rpm on Tuesday next week. Here's the link to my copr repo in case you would like to try it out. /Kristoffer (In reply to Kristoffer Grundström from comment #11) > Have you tested to run alienarena using Windows 11 with a Mageia 8 VM? > Please do if you haven't. > The computer I mentioned HP EliteDesk 800 G4 WKS TWR is owned by Umeå > Municipality so I'm not entitled to install Mageia 8 or 9 on/in it. Sorry to tell you but this is not the MS Windows bugtracker. Don't own a MS Windows since over 25 years and will never install one again an my machine park. Mageia 8 is EOL. Status:
