and it seems to work, though I had little success with the key commands. It tended to do its own thing, and get carried away in various directions.

Closing fixed.

For others looking at this, note that the pkg 'mesa-demos' contains a huge number of graphics test commands. I used to list them:
 $ urpmq -l mesa-demos | grep /bin/ | cut -d/ -f4
but there must be an easier way.
