Description Dan Fandrich 2023-03-09 20:12:41 CET
The file /usr/share/common-licenses/Apache is not the Apache license as commonly known, but rather the license for the Apache web server (i.e. what's in the
apache-2.4.56-1.mga9.src.rpm). They are certainly related, but common-licenses should contain the generic license text from (as the license itself states) http://www.apache.org/licenses/LICENSE-2.0

On a related note, the LGPLv2.1 file contains the old FSF address, and the formatting of the address in the GPLv2 file is messed up. These should probably also be retrieved anew from the pristine copies at https://www.gnu.org/licenses/old-licenses/lgpl-2.1.txt and https://www.gnu.org/licenses/old-licenses/gpl-2.0.txt

I'm happy to do the grunt work here, but I'd like an approval first because of the implications of changing license texts, even to fix them.

Thank you for the detailed report, and your welcome offer to fix it.
Assigning globally given the nature of the bug. 'common-licenses' SRPM is seldom updated.
Warrants airing on dev mailList.
