kde A really important information is missing: Which DE do you use? Because under Plasma it works out of the box. If you run it under another DE you need some knowledge and manual work as you need to install and start additional Plasma deps which are not present in other DEs.... Kmail is a Plasma app which works under Plasma. Under other DEs you need additional steps to get it working. As far as i can remember this was always the case... I am using plasma from MGA9 Alpha 1, Regards Please show the output when starting Kontact or KMail on command line and attach the file .local/share/akonadi/db_data/mysql.err (the first 100 lines if too big). Kontact/KMail/Akonadi is working here, too. You might also test KMail in a new test user. Best regards, Ulrich CC:
