Status comment: Workaround: Another version have fullscreen disabled.

Description Morgan Leijström 2023-01-19 22:41:21 CET
Description of problem:
I have not used this program before, but there are some apparent problems:

A) menus and window close button are not working after returning from fullscreen mode. (To enter and exit fullscreen: right click the work area and select that option)

B) Maybe there is a trick I dont know, but it seems the names of the nodes cant be edited?

C) No manual and not much help. (compare to vym, which we package with both a good manual and examples built in) I could only find a very old one which did not help me with B above... http://www-mdp.eng.cam.ac.uk/web/CD/engapps/project/kdissert.pdf

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
semantik-1.2.9-1.mga9
semantik-1.2.5-2.mga8

How reproducible:
Always, both versions, on mga8 and cauldron respectively, different machines, both Plasma, 64 bit.

Hi,

Could you file a new bug upstream at https://gitlab.com/ita1024/semantik ?

Assuming upstream until they tell otherwise.

For B, select the node, then press enter. Doh! :)
Comment 5 Morgan Leijström 2023-01-27 20:19:59 CET
For C) There is no more help etc than the built in Tip of the day.

For A), response in https://gitlab.com/ita1024/semantik/-/issues/124

"Sadly fullscreen toggles are incompatible with several system settings, so they have been disabled for the time being. Avoid using the toggle or update your copy to revision 64cbf4f4 "

Is this bug still valid on current mga9?

Comment 7 Morgan Leijström 2024-06-17 21:22:46 CEST
I have not used it more since last Comment...

Installed it now; mga9-64 Plasma X11 nvidia-current

semantik-1.2.10-1.mga9

Did a quick creation, save, close, open, edit, print. OK

* No problem with fullscreen and back now. * Which was the important problem.

__Two minor issues:

1) It is possible to select language but the only available is en_us.
Despite that, menus are localised to Swedish for me, but most other text is English.

2) The "what is this" help; where you click something and it should popup an explanation does not work.

Do we lack language or and help files?

Or the hint about kf.i18n shed some light?

[morgan@svarten ~]$ semantik --version
kf.i18n: KLocalizedString: Using an empty domain, fix the code. msgid: "Semantik" msgid_plural: "" msgctxt: ""
kf.i18n: KCatalog being used without a Q*Application instance. Some translations won't work
Qt: 5.15.7
KDE Frameworks: 5.114.0
Semantik: 1.2.10

Actually this is not fullscreen like before, it got disabled.
I tested running the app in maximised window mode: OK.
