Looks like the bootloader config is messed up.
How are you installing? Using a dvd, livecd, etc?CC:

davidwhodgins I filed bug 619 a while ago about background resolution. It was closed as old. `hd0,0' has backtick and single qoute signs. That's my question. BTW, I have LVM installation with /boot on LVM. Script is looking for (hd0,0). It's not here. $ df Filesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on /dev/mapper/Stable-20101 10G 5.6G 3.9G 60% / /dev/mapper/Stable-20102 20G 18G 2.0G 90% /home /dev/sda2 98G 51G 47G 53% /media/windows /dev/mapper/ISO-ISO 97G 73G 19G 80% /home/[...] How did you install with /boot on lvm ? I don't think grub support booting from lvm. CC:

(none) Grub2 does. I have Debian with Grub2 to boot LVM installations. Mageia 1 use grub 1.
