Mageia 9 alpha1 Live Plasma iso.
The download verified.
Wrote in USB flash disk.
Command “dd” and software “IsoDumper” cause the same problem.
EFI boot and legacy boot cause the same problem.
First boot option displayed three line then reboot immediately.
Second boot option displayed a lot of green “OK” then:

[FAILED] Failed to start drakx-installer-xsetup.service.
”
Changed the boot options:
removed “quiet” and “splash”, add “nomodeset”.
The first boot option successfully booted into desktop, but the resolution was 1024x768 and the frequency was 76Hz and they are not adjustable.
The second boot option stuck. It says:

Yes an AMD Sample CPU. I have been using it for a long term. But I also tried an old and stable model A4-6300 and got the same problem.
In a Live system. And I changed the resolution, the graphic driver in Mageia 8 has no problem.

Did you ever update your Mageia 8? You are still using a heavily outdated kernel from initial release. So it is hard to guess if even an actual Mageia 8 is able to run on you box or if it is really a problem with the Mageia 9 Live iso…

I have here a Sony Vaio E Series laptop, intel i5 quadcore.

Both "Boot Live System" and "Install Live System" boot into the selection of language, timezone, and keyboard. No error messages seen. It's all EFI boot.

Additional information:
The CPU I am using now is “AMD A10-5800K APU with Radeon HD Graphics”.
The bug remains in Mageia 9 final live.

Consider to close this thread? Because it looks like a general problem which happens on all distributions with new kernel, not very related to Mageia.
