Showing both WiFi & Ethernet Cinnamon systray icons correct
Ben, I judged from your example that it was with Cinnamon. If this is wrong, please say what desktop it was, and I will try again with that.
As per the title.
I tried first with LXDE where both icons were OK, then Cinnamon, where they were also OK as per this attachment.CC:

lspcidrake output
Thanks for thinking of xrandr. For the lspci output, only the VGA line mattered ( lspcidrake -v | grep VGA). But this is better:

So where do we go from here?
First - is it related to Cinnammon only, or other desktops also?
Second, perhaps, does changing screen resolution do anything?
Only you can try; or anything else you might think of.
TIA
by jiggering with the panel settings (right zone) I can get the icon to be correct. but for that session only. logout or reboot and log back in and I have to rejig the panel settings. it currently only has occurred on Cinnamon. I am away from that machine now until 26/10 as NZ is in long weekend holiday mode (machine is at the office). Because this difference has featured in another bug, can you say whether your Cinnamon is from a 'virgin' Mageia Cauldron installation? My correctly working case is in a Cauldron system born from a Mageia 8 upgrade. virgin instal. expecting it to turn up in the new .isos Can we await that confirmation before forwarding this bug? issue is apparent with 29 Oct x86_84 .iso.

Thanks for your updated confirmation. Assigning to Joseph for Cinnamon. The attachment https://bugs.mageia.org/attachment.cgi?id=13423 shows the problem, but it is subtle. If you cannot see a way forward, please flag this bug Keywords FOR_ERRATA9. Source RPM:

cinnamon-desktop-5.4.2-1.mga9.src.rpm Cinnaomon, MGA9, New Build from alpha 2nd build Is this at all related to the Network Manager Applet that's showing in the lower corner of screen even though network manager is not active. I do see the Mageia Network applet that is working. CC:

brtians1 Looking at images - appears 5o be the same in cinnamon. When I remove Network Manager applet, another icon appears saying "Network Manager is not running". So I went into Services and started the Network Manager related services and set them to on boot. Will confirm if enabling them will stop messags. When I rebooted after enabling servies above. The icon's appear normal. Granted this is a wired network on thsi machine. Probably need to remove Network Manager applet or enable services in Cinnamon by default. |
