desktop#4605 Fix build on macOS versions pre-11 (down to 10.14)

this install included the caja (mate) client.

started the client and logged into the nextcloud server.  Everything sync'd properly and reflected accurately in caja.

Lots of tests, both arches, now that's what I like to see!
