Description of problem:
Building rpm packages since the last update of file( file-5.42-1.mga9 ) fails with complains like:
"
extracting debug info from /
/usr/bin/debugedit: Failed to open input file '/': Is a directory
"

Reverting to version file-5.41-4.mga9 fixes the issue.

We've restored file-5.41-4 and it should be available on the mirrors soon.

To downgrade, use this command:

urpmi --downgrade file lib64magic1 python3-file-magic

Sorry, for late replay.
Downgrade went smooth and I haven't noticed any issues related to "file" rpms on the mirrors I use. 
This report may be closed as the building issue is solved, or it may be kept open until a working update/upgrade of "file" package is pushed.

I've added the patch from https://bugs.astron.com/view.php?id=358 and tested it locally. It worked as expected for me, but please let me know if anything is still broken.

The latest loaded version("file-5.42-1.mga9") works fine for me too.
