Running vainfo returns errors:

$ LIBVA_DRIVER_NAME=i965 vainfo

Could it be a dependency version mismatch?

If I read https://www.phoronix.com/scan.php?page=news_item&px=Intel-Media-Driver-Alder-Lake-S correctly, Alder Lake support has been added to intel-media-driver 21.1, but the version in Mageia 8 is 20.2. As I have an Intel i7-12700 Alder Lake CPU, could this explain my problem? Would it be possible to build a newer version in Backports testing to see if this fixes my problem?

https://github.com/intel/media-driver/releases/tag/intel-media-21.1.3 is the first release to mention ADL-S (Alder Lake for Desktop)

This request seems quite reasonable.

What made you pinpoint kekepower to do it? I can find no connection between this SRPM & him. If he *is* willing, so much the better; otherwise it will have to be assigned globally.

In the changelog, kekepower is the last one to update it on Cauldron. :)

Mageia 9 has version 23.1.3, which works.
