Description Jacques Pronchery 2011-10-13 11:12:47 CEST
Description of problem:

GThumb doesn't start, see the report below

[root@localhost ~]# gthumb
failed to create drawable

(gthumb:4377): Clutter-CRITICAL **: Unable to initialize Clutter: Unable to select the newly created GLX context
The program 'gthumb' received an X Window System error.
This probably reflects a bug in the program.
The error was 'BadGC (invalid GC parameter)'.
  (Details: serial 156 error_code 13 request_code 60 minor_code 0)
  (Note to programmers: normally, X errors are reported asynchronously;
   that is, you will receive the error a while after causing it.
   To debug your program, run it with the --sync command line
   option to change this behavior. You can then get a meaningful
   backtrace from your debugger if you break on the gdk_x_error() function.)
[root@localhost ~]#

How reproducible:
Steps to Reproduce:
1.install mageia with LXDE without software only configuration
2.install GThumb
3.launch GThumb in a console

My X card is : GeForce 6150SE nForce 430

Source RPM: (none) => gthumb

Comment 2 Manuel Hiebel 2011-10-13 14:03:54 CEST
So without 3D effect some apps don't work ?
Comment 3 Jacques Pronchery 2011-10-13 14:46:52 CEST
Is GThumb a 3D apps ????

No I was wrong.

Clutter-CRITICAL **: Unable to initialize Clutter: Unable to
select the newly created GLX context

GLX is something related to openGL and not necessarily 3D sorry.
