The 1.1.1 LTS branch is still supported until Sep 2023. What are the advantages of openssl 3.0 in Mageia 8? Source RPM:
openssl =>
openssl-1.1.1m-1.mga8.src.rpm A changelog describing the difference between the versions is described here. https://wiki.openssl.org/index.php/OpenSSL_3.0 Thanks. It still doesn't answer my question, but ok. Quote: "OpenSSL 3.0 is a major release and consequently any application that currently uses an older version of OpenSSL will at the very least need to be recompiled in order to work with the new version." We have openssl-3.0.0-2 in cauldron for the next Mageia release which should be ready way before Sep 2023. Nope, we wont push openssl 3 in mga8 as there are a "gazillion" packages and features that can/will break. Status:
