I wondered why PHP 8.0.15 available in Core Updates (Mageia 8) was not listed by mgaapplet despite I have 8.0.13 on my machine. I found that disabling Core Backports from rpmdrake fixed the problem.

I suspect the problem is that another version of PHP is available in Core Backports (8.1.0) and mgaapplet is confused. Or maybe because dependencies do not work correctly. Even with Core Backports disabled, rpmdrake still lists 8.1.0 despite this version should be hidden, and if I select a 8.0.15 package, rpmdrake says that it must install several 8.1.0 dependencies instead of the 8.0.15 ones.

Bug 29830 is about our graphical tools installing dependencies from non enabled backports repo. (so incompatible versions may get installed)

This bug is about mgaapplet not showing available updates in core updates when backport is enabled.
