Description Jacques Pronchery 2011-10-08 15:05:48 CEST
When Cheese is installing without gnome it don't work
because a dependence is missing.
This dependence is :
gstreamer 0.10-plugins-bad
and this has many dependences.

assign to the maintainer of cheese

Comment 2 Olav Vitters 2011-10-09 13:11:58 CEST
I don't have a webcam so you'll have to be a bit clearer:
 * which dependency on GNOME *exactly*?
 * which plugin in gstreamer?
 * what does not work without those collections of plugins?
Comment 3 Jacques Pronchery 2011-10-09 19:19:21 CEST
When cheese is lauching, there is a message :

"Un ou plusieurs éléments GStreamer sont manquants : camerabin".

Then i have found camerabin in the package "gstreamer 0.10-plugins-bad"
with this package it works.
but "gstreamer 0.10-plugins-bad" has many dependencies.
I don't know if this package is necessary or if one of dependency is sufficient.
Comment 4 Jacques Pronchery 2011-10-12 13:36:48 CEST
Now cheese don't start because there is not fbconfig with rgba.
Comment 5 Jacques Pronchery 2011-10-13 11:49:38 CEST
If I install the NVIDIA driver for my card
Cheese works OK.
