Confirmed in plasma too.
/usr/share/applications/screensaver-properties.desktop and
/usr/share/applications/xscreensaver-properties.desktop have identical content.
Assigning to registered maintainer for xscreensaver.

Confirmed in a 64-bit LXQt guest and in a 32-bit Xfce guest in VirtualBox. These two guests had actually been used to test previous xscreensaver bugs, but had not been used in a while. I don't know when the bug was introduced, but after getting the updates for each, Xscreensaver was listed twice in the "Settings" menus.

For each, I used qarepo to get the non-tainted versions first. After updating them, I checked the "Settings" menus, and xscreensaver was listed only once. Then I used qarepo to get the tainted versions, updated again, and checked again. Xscreensaver was still listed only once.

The Xfce "Settings" menu does contain a listing for "screensaver" as well as for "xscreensaver," but "screensaver " is different and must refer to the xfce4-screensaver package.

Giving this two OKs and validating. Advisory in Comment 3.
