Updated linus kernel and rebooted without issues.  nvidia-current rebuilt during installation.
Kernel: 5.15.6-1.mga8 x86_64
10-Core Intel Core i9-7900X
NVIDIA GP102 [GeForce GTX 1080 Ti] driver: nvidia v: 470.86

Plasma running fine.  NFS shares and NAS available over ethernet.
vlc worked on a video.  pavucontrol showed that sound should be working.  Tried btusb after attempting to set up bluetooth.  The connection makes and then breaks periodically - no sound.  Tried blueman and bluedevil but neither worked.
rfkill shows that hci0 is not blocked.  Gave up on that.  It worked out of the box with the desktop kernel.
