Description Kristoffer Grundström 2021-08-26 07:46:17 CEST
Description of problem: I love to use calendars and I really miss having the function to import events into the system calendar just like Google Calendar offers.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Login to any desktop environment that uses calendars.
2. Right click on the calendar.
3. Click on Configure.
4. Here's where I'd like to have a button to import to the system calendar using a .ics file.
5. Browse to that .ics file and click to import it.
6. Open the calendar and watch dates get filled with events.

Maybe we could even find a way to sync from Google Calendar as well if a user want to automatically sync.

Are you talking about the calenders that typically pop up when you click the Desktop (usually Systray) 'time'? Or something else? You specifically cite Cinnamon; what about all the others?
This is a major ehancement, which would be upstream for the many calenders involved.
Liable to close this 'invalid', but CC'ing wally in case he has a comment.

This is something for upstreams. Closing as WONTFIX. Feel free to reopen if needed.
