geiger.david68210 MGA8-64 MATE on Acer Aspire 5253 No installation issues Ref bug 26875 for testing Starting putty and connect to my desktop PC (opening SSH in firewall: works OK. Tried command $ putty -X -l prutser could connect, changed /etc/sshd/sshd_config to allow X11Forwarding, restarted sshd, but still I could not open an X-application like kwrite. Well, I could enter the command, no error feedback, I see the process kwrite is runnng on the desktop PC, but the application window is nowhere to see. I think my ignorance shows here ..... Can someone else test the X11Forwarding, I would agree on the OK. CC:

herman.viaene Did you enable X forwarding in PuTTY? Yes, that's what the "-X" at the CLI does. Anyway, I doublechecked. Hi, When I tried launching xev, I had no problem with X11Forwarding with: putty -X -l <the_user> <the_distant_server> Moreover, I rather regularly use putty 0.76 without noticing any issue. Best regards, Nico. CC:

nicolas.salguero (In reply to Nicolas Salguero from comment #8) > Moreover, I rather regularly use putty 0.76 without noticing any issue. But the version in core updates testing is putty-0.78-1.mga8.x86_64 Only a typo on your side? (In reply to sturmvogel from comment #9) > But the version in core updates testing is putty-0.78-1.mga8.x86_64 > Only a typo on your side? Yes, it was a typo, sorry. I tested with putty-0.78-1.mga8.x86_64. So, to sum up, Herman said he would not object to an OK if someone else checked X forwarding, and Nicolas says he uses it regularly, including X forwarding, with no issues. That should be enough. Giving this an OK, and validating. CC:
