MGA8-64-OK gnucobol 3.1.2 is old and out of date. gnucobol 3.2 is the current version. See https://sourceforge.net/p/gnucobol/code/HEAD/tree/tags/gnucobol-3.2/NEWS and https://gnucobol.sourceforge.io/ CC:

rihoward1 I'm going to send this on so that these bugfixes get to our Mageia 8 users. Please file a new bug for Mageia 9 with regard to updating to gnucobol 3.2, and include that Mageia 8 is also affected. Validating. Advisory in comment 2. CC:

andrewsfarm, sysadmin-bugs Thomas https://bugs.mageia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=32197 has been created by Stig to address updating to gnucobol 3.2 for Mageia 9 And I see that he is leaving Mageia 8 at 3.1.2, at least for the time being. Pity (In reply to Stig-Ørjan Smelror from comment #2) > Advisory > ======== > > GNUCobol has been updated to version 3.1.2 as a general bug fix update. > > References > ========== > https://sourceforge.net/p/gnucobol/code/HEAD/tree/tags/gnucobol-3.1.2/NEWS > > > Files > ===== > > Uploaded to core/updates_testing > > lib64cob-devel-3.1.2-1.mga8 > lib64cob4-3.1.2-1.mga8 > gnucobol-3.1.2-1.mga8 > > from gnucobol-3.1.2-1.mga8.src.rpm can we do a new bugreport to update gnucobol to version 3.2 ? mageia Updating to 3.2 would be ok as long as it's a bugfix release, but should be handled in a new bug report. Advisory for 3.1.2 committed to svn. Keywords:

advisory All updates within 3 series are bug fixes although some, are also feature improvements so related at a light level. 3.2 has been out for over a month and 3.1.2 for almost three years ! Update requests for gnucobol has been ongoing for over two years. If the current maintainer does not wish to keep it up to date perhaps it should be passed on to someone else who keep up to date with releases as as a Cobol Programmer. An update for this issue has been pushed to the Mageia Updates repository. https://advisories.mageia.org/MGAA-2023-0058.html Resolution:
