Description of problem:

There are 3 different packages that would need to be created;
openerp-server
openerp-client
openerp-web
It would be very appreciated if these could be added to the repository.

Setting version to cauldron, because package requests will usually be done for cauldron first and then be available in the next stable release after that

Version: 1 => Cauldron

The Openerp project has changed a little as per https://launchpad.net/openobject/ we now need the following packages.
openobject-addons
openobject-server
openerp-web

I know several people that would be very grateful to have these packages.

I also found this page http://nightly.openerp.com/7.0/nightly/rpm/
when I try to install the latest rpm it installs correctly but I cannot get openerp to start. I have a feeling that a few of the files don't go to the right place.

Since it seems difficult to package OpenERP, what about packaging another professional accounting application? According to Wikipedia
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison_of_accounting_software
there are a few multi-user, double-entry accounting applications for Linux:
Tryton, FrontAccounting, LedgerSMB, Openbravo, OpenERP and SQL-Ledger. Tryton packages for Fedora 20 exist, though the documentation is quite poor for non-programmers, so I was unable to have it work. Openbravo has the advantages of a point of sale and a payroll.

Comment 9 Rémi Verschelde 2014-05-01 22:44:50 CEST
It seems we have quite a few openerp packages (in Cauldron at least):

[akien@cauldron ~]$ urpmq -y openerp
openerp-extras
openerp-gap-analysis
openerp-git
openerp-google-api
openerp-openeducat
openerp-risk-management
openerp-server

Is it enough, or are there missing packages?

That does look like the correct set of packages. I have yet to test functionality but I thank whoever has put in the effort.

Is it enough for accounting? According to Mageia control center package description, openerp-server seems to include accounting, but what about the client? Is there any documentation about installing all what is necessary to get an accounting software with this?
