Mageia 7, Xfce, konsole-19.04.0-1.mga7 Yes, the 'I' mouse pointer in Konsole does indeed disappear after some 5s of cursor inactivity; or, indeed, immediately the keyboard is used. But here, with no fiddling with the cursor definition, it re-appears *within* the konsole window when moved. Same under Mageia 8. This behaviour is normal & correct. Why w unruh has to move the disappeared pointer outside the konsole window to make it re-appear is baffling. BTAIM this is a really trivial matter. For comparison: konsole Goes after 5s if idle or k/b used; re-appears on movement xfce4-terminal Does not disappear if idle or K/B used LXTerminal Does not disappear if idle or K/B used Qterminal Does not disappear if idle or K/B used gnome-terminal Stays on idle, but disappears on K/B use; re-appears when moved mate-terminal Stays on idle, but disappears on K/B use; re-appears when moved Tempted to close 'wontfix' because it really does not matter. Prefer a second opinion. @w unruh : * Please send the output of (install inxi if you do not have it): $ inxi -Sxx -G in case there is some fancy window management or rendering in use. * If you have any other terminal program, say what happens with them. * If you have another desktop, say what happens with konsole under that. Ever confirmed:

0 After about 6 months of up time, I decided to see if logging out and in would fix the rpblem. It does seem to have fixed it.(Note that if it had remained I would not have said it was trivial, but since it seems to have been caused by some age related disease of my login, I at present would advise this report be closed. Closing as invalid. It works here. The I shaped icon can be difficult to see. In systemsettings5, In the Appearance section under Workspace Theme/Cursors, I select redglass with a size of 32. Resolution:
(none) =>
INVALID One of the reasons I chose the large contrast pointer type 37 pixel was that the I is then large (2 lines high and three characters wide with Bitstream Sans Vera 13pt fount in Konsole.) |
