alien there are definately 2 different requests. while eid-mw is more of a library, eid-viewer is a java app, and i have no experience with those, furthermore, eid-viewer for me is not necessary, i only use the eid-mw FF plugin for tax and other governmental purposes, i'm not inclined to do eid-viewer at this time. perhaps someone else will... about eid-middleware updating... we're kind of late in release cycle for it, and if there are no big security issues, i'm not inclined to do it at this time, but likely after release. i have not followed the very latests builds, but the earlier changes only had effect on macosx and windows, so i didn't update it, as i didn't see the need. thanks for the heads up though, i'll definately look at what's changed and likely will update after release. after all, it's not like it's on any release media... since this bug has always been about eid-viewer, i'll assign back to bugsquad... eid-viewer, viewer for Belgian Electronic Identity Card =>
eid, eid-viewer for Belgian Electronic Identity Card Missing this package is somewhat sore, as it is not a passive viewer, but the only way (AFAIK) to manipulate things like the PIN code on the Belgian eid card. CC:

herman.viaene i thought it was possible in the firefox preference page on certificates (devices) to change the PIN code? unfortunately, while i'm the packager of beid-middleware, i have no knowledge of java packaging, and i can't spare the time to do this too... now, if someone were to step up and want to package and maintain eid-viewer? i wouldn't be adverse to helping that person out and/or mentor him/her Did you check the latest 4.1.4 version? It has a complete source with all info for rpm building AFAICS. In fact, I checked the Mageia Wiki, and did build an rpm. Unfortunately it does not install, because of a naming clash expected by that rpm and the one provided by Mageia for the beid-middleware. can you show me your spec file? i can take a look at it... Assigning this package request to all packagers collectively. On a voluntary basis, one of them might want to integrate it to the distribution and maintain it for bug and security fixes. You might also want to join the packager team to maintain this piece of software: see https://wiki.mageia.org/en/Becoming_a_Mageia_Packager Assignee:

lovaren As far as I could see, the eid-viewer is part of the existing eid-mw of the originator. I tried to package this but run into problems and without any support or mentoring ........ |
