ok, will enable in next kernel build For errata? What is the effect: Does it cause computer to make much noise, or get too little cooling? CC:

fri No. not everything reported in bugzilla or discussed om mls belongs in errata for stuff that has never been supported, it cant possible be a regression. Oh, i did not realise it was an enhancement request Hello, Thanks a lot Thomas. @Morgan: Indeed it's not a regression. The problem is that the fan starts turning very fast soon after the boot and never slows down even if the computer becomes idle. Very noisy result and it reduces noticeably the lifetime of the fan (at least). It also sucks down a lot of battery life. With this module enabled the fan can be controlled and slowed down to more reasonable speeds. My bad I could have made it more clear that it was not a regression. Will try to do better for the next bugs i create. Maât Status:
