Description of problem:
Cannot install MGA8 RC1 to SSD
I had to reverse to MGA8 B1 which works okay.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
MGA8 RC1

How reproducible:

Steps to Reproduce:
1. dd a copy of MGA rc1 to a USB stick and then attempt to install to SSD.
2. (older computer - non-UEFI, set to MBR).
3. When reaching partitions, you can choose for example:
"/" as ext4 15GB, "/opt" as 15GB, "/home" as 70GB, SWAP for remaining space of a 120GB drive, or you can let the computer decide for you.
4. Select to format "/" and/or if you want, other partitions too.
5. After partitions are formatted, we go to the next step....
error: Can't call method "val" on an undefined value.

6. Only choice left is to return to 3 where you get to re-choose partitions.

At this point you are stuck in a loop from 3...6,3...6,3...6


Returning to MGA8 B1 and installing that fixes problem.
Appears something broke on MGA8 RC1

Cannot confirm. Copied Mageia-8-rc-i586.iso to a usb stick using isodumper,
which reads the iso back from the stick to verify it after copying.

During partitioning, labeled / and /boot, formatted and mounted both ...

Plasma install (without online repos enabled) went smoothly. After install,
rebooted into that installation ok.

Turned-out to be defective USBstick - we can close this bug.
