Thank you for this observation. It is indeed true that at last Flash is NOT recommended. I wonder who uses this package. Curiously, the project is still active: "Lightspark is still in alpha state, it currently implements around 78% of the Flash APIs" https://github.com/lightspark/lightspark/releases 0.8.3 dbluelle released this on Jul 5, 2020 0.8.4 github-actions released this 23 hours ago Assigning this globally for closure either 'agreed & done'; or 'wontfix, keep it anyway'. CC'ing DavidW for his expert opinion. Summary:
The lightspark package should be marked as deprecated and exit rpmdrake in Mageia 8 =>
The lightspark package should be marked as deprecated, and be DROPPED from Mageia 8 Actually the fact that the Adobe Flash implementation is EOL is all the more reason to keep this open-source implementation. Status:
NEW =>
RESOLVED But if Flash Player is EOL, I think that even for security reasons, we should not give the option to support this technology. Wrong, Adobe Flash Player is EOL. That has no bearing on lightspark. |
