Hi, what media are you using? Does this refer to a M8 Plasma installed system or the live environment?

I CAN'T reproduce it on a M8 Plasma x86_64, freshly installed system (with no /home backup-ed), with Classic RC public ISO.

I think I may have found the problem. When I installed Mageia 8rc, it said near the end of the install that I could automatically update the media. I'm thinking it may have grabbed some files from Cauldron instead of Mageia 8. Sorry about that. So, I just finished re-installing Mageia 8rc without updating. It seems to be working properly now.

No, Mageia 8 RC and Cauldron are twins now... (for sometimes) if an updated package in online repository broke your M8 RC installation, it must be tracked.
